Needless to say, life has been crazy for us and we have been trying to get back into a normal routine and of course, let Charlie get healthy at his own pace. It didn’t help that Norah had a bad cold after he came home from the hospital, as we were all terrified that we were all going to get it, ESPECIALLY, CHARLIE. So we all washed our hands A LOT and of course, I (Melinda) had been terrified of going to parks, public places and bacteria and germs of every kind, shape and form. But Norah’s cold only lasted a few days and 1 week later, I’m happy to say that so far, we are all healthy!
To celebrate Charlie’s health, I made a trip up to our most favorite sweet spot, the Swedish Bakery up in Andersonville to get our most favorite cake. Triple Chocolate Ganache. It is by far, thee most amazing CHOCOLATE CAKE in the world! I’m not one to be huge into desserts, but this tops everything in my book.
Here are some fun shots from our 4th of July, here in Chicago. It was very low key for us, not to mention that it rained all day. We did manage to step onto our balcony for a bit to have some sparkler fun (Norah said that she’d try it next year, when she was 6 yrs old!) and also went onto our rooftop to get a very good 360 degree view of the city and were amazed at simply HOW MANY people light off fireworks, considering they are ILLEGAL and all.
